In 1897-1899 he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Berlin Bergakademie, in 1902-1903 at the Department of Electronics at the German Technical University in Brno. He published multiple articles, as well as <em>Elementare Vorlesungen \u00fcber Telegraphie und Telephonie<\/em> (Berlin: G. Siemens, 1902-1906). In 1909, he founded the Milliwatt Company in Berlin, manufacturing medical electronic instruments and electric blankets. When the factory was \u201eAryanized\u201c in 1936, R.&nbsp;Heilbrun escaped to England, where he died in August 1945.
