Společnost založil drogista a velkoobchodník sklem Wilhelm Uebe v Zerbstu r. 1890. Maximální teploměry Uebe, vyrobené z odolného jenského skla s hliníkovou stupnicí, získaly řadu ocenění a byly distribuovány a pod licencí vyráběny v celé Evropě. Rychle si získaly oblibu pro domácí využití. Ve východním Německu byla společnost po válce znárodněna, sídlo firmy Uebe se pak přesunulo do Wertheimu. The company was founded by the drugstore and glass merchant Wilhelm Uebe in Zerbst in 1890. Uebe maximum thermometers made of resistant Jena glass with aluminium scales, gained several awards, became extremely popular as household thermometers and were distributed and licensed across Europe. In East Germany, the company was nationalized after World War II; in the West, it continued production in Wertheim. In 1975 it started making digital thermometers as well.
