The Aesculap Autoclub
was established in Prague on June 25, 1930. Its membership included veterinarians, but without the right to the radiator sign and associated benefits. The first Chair of the club was the Director of the Bulovka Hospital in Prague, the surgeon Josef Horak (1884-1934), followed by the owner of the famous Prague sanatorium, dr. Vladimir Boruvka (1892-1937) and, in 1937/1939 and again after the liberation, the gastroenterologist Jaro Horak (1897-1953). In 1948, the club merged with the Autoclub of the Czechoslovak Republic. The latter was dissolved in 1952 and resurrected only after 1990.
